ABOUT EVENT
A Historic Celebration of Somali Music & Identity
The Mogadishu Music Festival 2027 is a groundbreaking cultural celebration dedicated to showcasing the richness, diversity, and depth of Somali music and oral heritage. Organized by Hayaan Heritage, a Somali-based cultural organization committed to preserving, promoting, and celebrating Somali heritage, this inaugural two-day festival will be the first of its kind in Somalia.
The festival will bring together thousands of music enthusiasts, cultural custodians, and prominent Somali artists for a vibrant celebration in the heart of Mogadishu. It aims to highlight Somali music not only as an art form but as a living archive of the nation’s stories, values, and identity.
From Banadiri rhythms to Afrobeat blends, from the poetic depth of Tarab to the electrifying energy of Shareero, Somali music reflects centuries of cultural richness, regional diversity, and artistic brilliance. The Mogadishu Music Festival 2026 will celebrate this diversity, reasserting music’s role in promoting peace, cultural pride, and national identity.
Join us in this historic celebration as we honor Somali heritage, inspire the next generation of artists, and bring the world to Mogadishu through the power of music.
